Andover Newton Night

Monday, May 1st, 2017

Presentation: Andover Newton: “ The Next Chapter”

Rev. Dr. Martin B. Copenhaver, President of Andover Newton Theological School was expected to share his vision of the role of Andover Newton in the coming years.

Rev. Dr. Gregory Mobley, Professor of Christian Bible at ANTS, ably filled in as Dr. Copenhaver was unable to attend.

Dr. Mobley announced that Andover Newton Theological School will become part of Yale Divinity School and will be moving to New Haven, Connecticut in the year ahead. ANTS is the result of the 1965 merger of Andover Theological Seminary formerly in Andover, Massachusetts which began in 1807 training Congregational pastors, and Newton Theological Institution founded in 1825 in Newton Centre as a Baptist Seminary for the training of Baptist pastors. Over the next year ANTS will be beginning a new step in their long history.

Special Music

Dr. Jeffery Dana Hicks, piano, and Liz Horowitz, flute, played arrangements that were organized in a sequence to reflect Jeffery&s many residences in Europe and the United States. One included was a piece written by Jeffery.
